Days 1–4: Safari on Land – The Pangolin Chobe Voyager

Upon arrival in Chobe either via Kasane Airport, or with a transfer from Victoria Falls, you’ll check in at the Pangolin Chobe Voyager, an eco-friendly, luxury floating lodge. Here, you’ll be welcomed by Lesley Rochat, your dedicated photo host, who will accompany you throughout your journey.

For the next three days, enjoy a slower, more immersive pace of safari life, cruising along a quiet stretch of the Chobe River.

The Pangolin Voyager offers an exclusive way to experience the Chobe River, cruising a pristine stretch with overnight stops at three secluded mooring points. These locations are carefully selected based on seasonal water levels and river conditions, ensuring optimal comfort and wildlife photography opportunities and viewing throughout your journey.

You will enjoy three unforgettable days cruising the Chobe River photographing wildlife from custom-built photography boats, and relaxing in one of Africa’s most peaceful settings. Each day includes sunrise and sunset photography cruises led by Lesley.

Between photo safaris, relax on the sun deck, enjoy delicious meals, and take part in image review sessions, all while surrounded by the wild beauty of Chobe.

Okavango Delta — Moremi & Okuti Camp (with Light Aircraft Transfer)

Set deep within the world-famous Okavango Delta and the Moremi Game Reserve, Okuti Camp sits beside the tranquil Maunachira River, a ribbon of water that draws rich birdlife, fish, and wildlife into its reed-lined channels. This remote wilderness — a sprawling maze of waterways, palm-fringed islands, and floodplain forests — supports an incredible diversity of life, from elephants drinking at the water’s edge to wading birds in kaleidoscopic flight over lily-strewn lagoons.

Access to the Delta is typically via light aircraft from Maun International Airport, the primary gateway into this extraordinary inland delta. Shared charter flights on small planes (such as Cessna or Britten-Norman aircraft) provide a scenic aerial introduction to the landscape before landing on a remote airstrip near your camp. The flights showcase the intricate patterns of water and wildlife from above — a perfect prelude to what you’ll experience on the ground and water.

Photographic Itinerary — Okuti Camp & Departure

Day 4 - Arrival & Okavango Welcome

You’ll depart from the Kasane or Maun area (often near where your Chobe segment ends) and transfer to Maun International Airport. From there, a light aircraft charter flight carries you into the heart of the Okavango Delta, flying low over reflective channels, oxbow lagoons, and wildlife corridors — an unforgettable introduction to this world-renowned wilderness.

Upon landing, you’ll be met at the airstrip and transferred to Okuti Camp. Settle into your water-facing suite with teak decks overlooking slow-moving channels. After lunch, enjoy a late-afternoon motorboat cruise through the Maunachira channels — prime time for capturing birds, hippos, and delta light on camera, followed by dinner under a canopy of stars.

Day 5 - Delta Waterways & Mokoro Experience

Rise early for a sunrise photographic session on the water, where still reflections and soft light create perfect conditions for rich wildlife imagery. Mid-morning may include a mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) excursion — an intimate way to glide silently through reeds and lagoons while photographing birds, water ants, and smaller delta life.

In the afternoon, choose between another motorboat cruise or a gentle walk with a guide along a watercourse edge, capturing the interplay of light, wildlife behavior, and wetland habitat. Each evening, engage in an image review and critique session with your guide, sharpening your photographic vision as the days unfold. (Okavango Delta)

Day 6 - Full Day Exploration

Today is dedicated to deeper Delta exploration. Depart with your guide into broader waterways or meandering back-channels where elephant herds, crocodiles, and migratory waterbirds congregate. Expect multiple shooting opportunities throughout the day, from wide landscapes to intimate wildlife portraits.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush or on a shaded bank before returning to camp for an afternoon of personal photography refinement — review your best frames, discuss technique, and prepare for your final day of shooting.

Day 6 - Final Outing & Departure

Start early with one last sunrise photo shoot tailored to your interests — whether it’s birds in flight, elephants interacting with their environment, or the shifting patterns of light on water.

Later in the morning, you’ll check out and be transferred back to the nearest airstrip for your light aircraft transfer to Maun. This flight gives one more sweeping aerial perspective of the Delta before you arrive at Maun Airport to continue your journey home or onward.
